My friend Katie and I were making some tags, and I was teaching her how to make Pansy style flowers. Here are the tags we created; hers is the purple on the left and mine is the green on the right:
So this reminded me of how fun it is to make tags – so much less involved than scrapbooking or even card making. I fell you can be kind of silly and use your imagination with a little tag. Y’all might know about my My Cute Stamps obsession, so I decided to use only My Cute Stamps for the following tags.
Be prepared for insufferable cuteness:
I started inking this tag with Distress Inks in Stormy Sky, Pumice Stone, and Black Soot. I used Jenni Bowlin ink in Fountain Pen for the clouds, and Spice Tin for the raindrops.
Here’s a close up of that happy little cloud (did you say that in Bob Ross’ voice? I did!) with white gel pen stitching.
Here’s the cloud counterpart: sunshine and little umbrellas! The background is Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, and different Jenni Bowlin inks for the umbrellas.
Look at that happy sun, there’s no way your day isn’t brighter now!
This was a fun technique that I’ve been doing lately – I’ve been stamping my image on a separate piece of paper, adhering with temporary adhesive and stamping over it with my background stamp. Then I remove the temporary image, and re-stamp in the center of the blank spot. This one was done with a background set by Stampers Anonymous, the Cherries are My Cute Stamps of course, and the sentiment is Hero Arts. Ink colors are Shabby Shutters Distress Ink and Chili Powder Jenni Bowlin. Some Stickles in Xmas Red and gems to finish
One sweet, one sour!
