Today’s post is inspired by A Blog Named Hero Challenge #4.
I love challenges like this, I find them really inspiring – really get the mojo going. The card I created for this I think is now one of my top all time favorites!
Even though this Hero Arts/Studio Calico lattice background is relatively new, I’ve been hoarding it for 2 months now – silly, I know! I just wanted to use it in the perfect scenario, and I believe I’ve found it. I was going for a nautical scene with my favorite colors – aqua and coral. This allowed me to use the lattice background as a ‘net’ to ground the card, inked in most beautiful HA Soft Pool Shadow Ink.
To me, this didn’t really ‘count’ as dusting something off, so I found a Hero Arts set CL451 – which I swear I have never seen used in any challenge – ever! I stamped over the lattice background with two of the stamps in Ripe Persimmon, one of the Fall 2011 Distress Inks.
On top of a popped up rounded piece of cardstock, I stamped an oh-so-perfect sentiment from an Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday set in Broken China Distress Ink. A splattering of pearls finishes it off.
I love love love this card. I think I just might have to dust off some other stamps from this set. Thanks for the inspiration, A Blog Named Hero!
