Seahorse Card

Today’s card was actually inspired by my first card for this challenge.  I loved it and the stamp set I used, and just couldn’t stop!  Check out the first card, then check out the second below!

Seahorse Card (3)

I started with that same super awesome lattice background – easily my new fave stamp right now.  I had so much fun with the background; I watercolored all the blue Distress Inks, then misted some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists on top for a really cool watery look.  I tried to make the bottom darker and fade lighter toward the top, I think it’s a fantastic effect!

I stamped the water roses (or whatever they are!?) in Ripe Persimmon and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and Jenni Bowlin Ink in Lemon Drops.  I cut out some random little star-like shapes out, and put varying colors of Stickles on top.  Don’t you love that little seahorse?  Isn’t he cute?  He’s inked in Dried Marigold Distress Ink, and I gave him some little water drops for air bubbles.  An HA sentiment finishes it off and ties it all together.

So what do you think, do you like the first card or today’s card better?  I think the first is more clean cut with simple design, and today’s is more ‘artsy’.  Which style is more ‘you’??
