Let me tell you how much fun I had with today’s challenges, courtesy of both Simon Says Stamp – Tags or ATCs and Simon Says Stamp and Show – Spritz, Spray, or Stencil. SO much fun! I love SSS and SSS and Show challenges, because they really push the limits of creativity. I hit up both options from SSS for this one – I’ve got an ATC (artist trading card) on TOP of a tag!
I started with a wash of Tumbled Glass Distress Stain on the tag, stamped some Hero Arts starfish with Faded Jeans Distress Ink, then topped with a light coat of Picket Fence DS. Before giving it a spritz of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, I painted the sticky back canvas ATC with two different colors of Delta Ceramcoat acrylic paint. I mixed it with a dollop of Liquitex gloss gel medium – which gives paint the look of oil in a way – you can see paintbrush lines, a slight 3D effect, and longer working time. Check out the close-up below to see the detail of the paint mixed with the gloss gel medium.
Isn’t that the coolest? I told you challenges like these push me.
I took the other end of the paintbrush and dabbed some FolkArt metallic acrylic paint randomly. I stamped a Tim Holtz stamp in Crushed Olive DI “you’re the one who makes me the way you see me. xo”. I cut the words out in a Dyan Reaveley style – slightly tedious but perfect effect. Some twine, Liquid Pearls in Peacock, and some Prima flowers finish it off.
Check out all those products used to create this tag! Lots of fun, very artsy fartsy – I loved it! What do you think, should acrylic paint be part of my card making repertoire?
If this is your first time here, please consider staying around and looking awhile. If you like what you see, I'd love for you to follow - lots of fun things to share on the way! :-)
