Having a blast tonight and fully inspired, futzing around with this nautical yet astronomy (astronomical?) themed card, inspired by two challenges:
Jeff and I are always playing a one-upmanship of who loves the other more. Some of you may find this cute, some, nauseating. Either way the phrase ‘love you more’ with the response of ‘more’ is common around here, which is why that little wood veneer is perfect. I actually started this whole card idea out with that strip of paper from Dear Lizzy’s Lucky Charm 6x6 pad – it says Love you to the stars and back. I paired it with the Studio Calico vellum that has a nice print of constellations. I knew I wanted to have a nice solid cluster (no pun intended!) as this is mainly how I was inspired from Lisa Spangler’s card above.
As I decided to also enter this in ABNH’s latest challenge, I needed to use a tag, and of course Hero Arts products! The piece stamped on jade (in Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Navy) is the Hero Arts stamp, from a set I hardly ever see anywhere. In fact, I may be the only person who owns it – lol! The tag is sprayed in Sea Foam and Navy Mister Huey’s through a Studio Calico mask. The wood veneer stars are also SC. The gold glitter paper is a new stash addition.
This card was atrociously difficult to photograph. The wood veneer ‘love you more’ piece is quite dark, while the vellum background is basically white on white. And of course I am typing this before the deadline, so at almost 10pm I’ve just finished making it and taking photos at night This top photo shows the vellum better while the bottom photo shows the details of all the clustered elements.
Thanks for the visit – I hope you enjoyed and are having a nice night!!
