A tag brought to you today by inspiration from CAS(E) this Sketch #37 and Moxie Fab World’s Tuesday Trigger!
I am out of cute tags for presents and don’t ever feel the need to limit papercrafting challenges to just cards. Branching out is fun – and with smaller space comes its own challenge. Kind of like if you’re used to posting on a blog, you’ve got all the words in the world. Then go on Twitter and you’re limited to 140 characters. How to fit it all in and make it still look good – that’s the name of the game with a tag.
It may be a tag – but it is filled with fun! (And technique for that matter!)
I started with this lovely paper (that I actually one from one of Moxie Fab World’s giveaways, sponsored by Websters Pages) and covered my tag with it. To bump it up a notch without adding bulk, I stamped some butterfly images and dusted with Perfect Pearls. I cut the banners and curled them up on the ends for a touch of whimsy. Then I couldn’t stop myself from using actual hexagons, those little wood veneers from Studio Calico. I colored them in the following Copic markers: BG01 Aqua Blue, YG93 Grayish Yellow, R30 Pale Yellowish Pink, E57 Light Walnut, RV34 Dark Pink, Y32 Cashmere and BG96 Bush.
You know me, I couldn’t help myself and added some shimmer. But how to get a thin layer specifically on the hexagons? Smooch Ink is the answer! Colored over the Copics in Frosted Aqua, Lettuce, Shabby Pink, Snickerdoodle, Taffy, Sundance, and Luscious Lime. A couple of pearls + twine bow and I’ll say she’s done!
Thanks for joining me today!
