I made this card several days ago, but didn’t have a chance to photograph it because it has been raining like mad and I knew it just had to clear up. Right now the best light I can get is out back on my deck, so this is where I have been taking my photos recently. I set the card up on the railing, where it fell two stories to an untimely death face down on the super wet grass. The card base was soaked and all the ink moved around all yuckily (not a word?). So I redid it, because I really liked how it had originally turned out. The good news is the colors seem even brighter this time around, which is perfect especially for this challenge, CASology – Neon!
I was also inspired by this image I saw on Simon Says Stamp’s website:
I started with the inspiration colors but wanted it to be much brighter obviously as this is a NEON challenge! Normally when doing this style of blending I would use Distress Inks, but I went for it using Hero Arts Neon Inks in Purple, Yellow, Orange, and Pink, blending using a Tsukineko thimble style tool. I added some Thickers, some Studio Calico wood veneer Stars coated in black Enamel Accents (this product is like Glossy Accents but opaque black. It also comes in white). A black border nails everything down and ties it all together.
Have you ever had a card ruined only to redo it better than your original? Sometimes it works out for the best!
