I don’t have any digital images, but when I saw Joceyln’s card I immediately thought of the shape of Colorbox cat’s eye queue pads. I stamped them in a circle, impatiently drying in between layers (I don’t work frequently with pigment inks so this was a fun challenge for me). This set of queues wasn’t even open! I added a bit of Distress Ink around the sides – Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feather, Salty Ocean – just to give a bit of interest but still keeping things simple.
I added the sequins and then stamped my sentiment. A friend of mine’s father got into a terrible accident at work and will need to undergo months of rehabilitation. I won’t go into detail for privacy, but if you are the praying sort I would appreciate one sent on behalf of them.
After the sentiment I was feeling like it was incomplete but not wanting to ruin it – you know that awful stage – you’ve been there. I loosely added the outlines of the cat’s eyes, and it made it look perfect, and really helps balance that heavy sentiment.
I thought the use of color was perfect for the CASology challenge – nice cool blue/aqua/periwinkle tones, although the reason for the card is decidedly ‘uncool’. I hope my friend’s dad get's better soon. Thanks for joining me today!
Oh and a quick close up of the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (in Pearl) I quickly spritzed on top:
