Trigger Tuesday -

I feel giddy with this one, hope you like what I came up with for the latest Tuesday Trigger!

World Card Making Day is just around the corner don’t cha know for all of us to get a head start on those Christmas and holiday cards.  I couldn’t stand the wait – as you may have already noticed – and had to start crankin ‘em out right away.  Here’s my take on the Fine Toothed Comb Trigger:

What do you think!?!?  I loved the ‘comb’ part of the Trigger image but didn’t have anything that even remotely resembled the picture in my head.  Not to worry – let’s give this bad boy a freehand drawing and see what happens!  I grabbed my Ranger Embossing Pen and drew the ‘combs’ in the shape of a super modern Christmas tree and heat embossed with Zing! powder in a glitzy metallic copper.

Those embellishments?  Everything but the kitchen sink!  I started with the larger button style pieces and filled in with pearls, brads, a flower, sequins, enamel dots, gems, Liquid Pearls, and epoxy dots – ooh and a wooden veneer star on top!  My tree was lonely so I closed off the side with an inked sentiment from Technique Tuesday/Ali Edwards.  I separately masked each word and inked til the side was filled with Hero Arts Field Greens, then SU Baja Blue, then Hero Arts Soft Apricot.

Here’s another look:

I really love the ‘12’ brad – a little subtle ode to the ‘days of Christmas’!

I was going for a vintage meets modern, whatd’ya think, does it work for you?
