I am going to Florida this week to celebrate Thanksgiving with my sister and her family (who are all coming from Michigan).  We have always done the same thing for the holidays so this is definitely out of tradition.  I hope everyone has a great week and has many things to be thankful for – I know I do.  So cheers to you my friends and followers, and cheers to this blessed week where things get simultaneously calmer and crazier.

See you in a week, friends!

Why you should not use tinsel glitter on plastic

This card is a keep calm and carry on moment for me, let me show you why:

This card uses one of those shaker pouches that I got from Impression Obsession at my LSS, Scrappin in the City here in Knoxville.  I shared my haul video last week of it.  See all those little lines everywhere?  That is Martha Stewart tinsel glitter.  Very pretty stuff but man does it have the worst static cling ever!  I’ve done this before with regular glitter and don’t remember it being so clingy.  But it’s sealed and I don’t want to mess with it, so I’m going to call it done.

Keep calm and carry on!  Happy Saturday!

Let it Snow

Happy Friday everyone!  While I don’t agree with the sentiment, I still had fun making this card:

Main panel is Distress Paint, in Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles, and Stormy Sky.  The snowflake is from SSS, and inked in a random variety of alcohol inks.  Thickers letter stickers in this rather contrary formation of characters completes this one.

Enjoy the weekend!!

CASual Fridays + Curtain Call

A dual challenge today – ha when I first typed that, I typed duel, lol!  Anyway, today’s card comes from the inspiration from two lovely challenges; CASual Fridays and Curtain Call!

Thrilled with the simplicity of this one, I am so happy with how it turned out.  Thanks for popping by!

Cheers and a “Triangleception”

Another card where I knew exactly what I wanted to do, then it only got better:

I recently picked up a Paper Smooches set called Free Spirits, and it has the cutest little glasses and bottles.  I spied the martini glass and thought it was the perfect little triangle.  Then I thought, why not stack up the glasses on each other, like a Christmas tree?  And voila, another triangle!  Triangles within a triangle – triangleception!

I colored them with 3 different shades of Copics each, then brushed a glitter pen on them and coated in Glossy Accents.  For fun I popped them up on foam squares.  The Cheers sentiment is from Avery Elle, these two sets go hand in hand and you will surely see a lot of them paired together – I am in love with the combo!

Cheers to you all for joining me, hope you have a great day!

Case this sketch #54

Haven’t played in this one in awhile, here’s CAS(E) this sketch #54:

I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this sketch when I saw it.  I die cut that drop dead gorgeous SSS snowflake out of some glitter paper, and filled in its circles with some berry colored sequins.  A dark mint green frame and some berry glitter paper make the perfect backdrop – still sort of Christmassy colors.  The whole thing is on top of some lovely striped vellum which is terribly difficult to photograph.  A couple of silver sequins and we can call this one done!

Thanks for visiting Smile

Case Study #166

This one was so much fun, I am so glad I played along for Case Study #166!

I started with my tag as the focus, using modeling paste through a Studio Calico stencil.  I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Mint and Teal to get an ombre background.  The small wood veneer snowflakes are also from Studio Calico – I used a ton of these last year!  The main snowflake is one of Simon Says Stamp’s new die cuts, and I coated mine with Distress Glitter in Clear Rock Candy.  Some wood grain and red sequins, plus some jute string, and a shiny button finish it off.

Hope you enjoyed – I was really inspired from the dimension and colors in this Case Study!

Color Throwdown #268

A quick post here because I’ve got lots to share today so we’ll start off with Color Throwdown #268:

This is actually a mini-card, it is only about 3x3, so cute!  Background is sort of a bokeh feel of Distress Stains in Broken China, Bundled Sage, Picked Raspberry, and Victorian Velvet.  Some little starbursts were embossed in this cool powder I picked up – Ranger Antiquities Frosted Crystal.  Wood veneer tree was coated in Antiqued Bronze distress Paint, and a Technique Tuesday sentiment carries it home.

Thanks for visiting me, please come back later today I will have several more cards to share Smile

Crafty Haul Video

Hey friends!  I wanted to share a video of my recent craft hauls from Simon Says Stamp, Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, my LSS Scrappin in the City, Dollar Tree, and Target.  It is only my second video and I don’t know what I’m doing so I’m honestly just thankful at this point that I figured out how to film it and post it on here.  Also I ran out of card space at the end but I was only missing a couple items so oh well.  Hopefully soon I will have time to play and showcase the products.  Enjoy, let me know if you have questions! Smile
