Thanks for joining me today for Papertrey Ink’s January Blog Hop! I’ve got two cards to show you, inspired by:
Y’all may have noticed I am head over heels for watercolor. I started out with a panel of watercolor paper, using a gradient of Picked Raspberry Distress Stain to create my ombre background. I used two PTI sets for this card; Mini Blooms and Delighful Dahlia Additions (the sentiment). 3 shades of pink for the flowers – Picked Raspberry, Hero Arts Bubble Gum and Stampin Up’s Pink Pirouette. Enamel dots, 2 shades of pink sequins, and a fine coat of shimmer mist make a beautiful glimmery finish.
This second card may be bending the rules. I read it as ‘using pink with any neutral’ to complement, but it really needed the green. I used washi tape to mask off about an inch off each side, then used Jet Black gouache to create the stripes. Once that dried I used these lovely blooms from the Delightful Dahlias Additions set to create my focal point. I was playing with several sentiments, but didn’t like any placement I came up with – and that is a-ok in my book. A couple of gold sequins don’t hurt either!
Thanks for the visit, if it’s your first time here have a looky-loo around!
