To Nights We’ll Never Remember…

Celebrating the last day of March with this little number:

I love this duo of Paper Smooches dies with the sentiments from Avery Elle.  Drinks colored in Copics and coated with a healthy dose of Stickles.

Cheers (to April)!!

I <3 You More Than Coffee

I enjoy a good cup o’ joe as much as the next person, but there are some people in my life – yours too, I’m sure – that really know their stuff when it comes to the almighty bean.  One of my favorite sets by Papertrey features this cute little stack of cups and a variety of coffee-themed sentiments:

Here’s the deets on the creation: I took three separate Hero Arts Shadow Inks (Soft Sand, Soft Brown, and Cup  O’ Joe – how fitting!) to create the ombre effect on PTI kraft cardstock.  I was going to be all anal about it, but the slight crookedness lends to a jittery look which imho is perfect!  I found this doily image on the back of some patterned paper I had, die cut a circle around it, and inked in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain.  The cups are colored in Copics, and coated in a healthy dose of Glossy Accents (and also on top of the center hearts).

I think this could be a great card for either male or female recipient, something that can be very hard to do!

So what do you think, does this card set you ‘abuzz’?

Distressed Birthday

Joining Case Study for their latest:

Pretty obvious inspiration in my oh-so-humble opinion.  Panel inked in Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, and Salty Ocean Distress Inks and spritzed liberally with water.  PTI daffodil fussy cut (urgh!) and colored with Copics YR15 YR16 Y32 Y35 YG17 YG25.  Same colors for the ‘happy’ die.  Lawn Fawn Banner, Hero Arts sentiment.  Sequins to finish.  I’m happy with the vibrancy and layout!

Happy Birthday Watercolor Craziness

Been meaning to play along with Virginia Lu’s new challenge – Virginia View (especially since the first ‘view’ is watercolor – one of my top faves!!), but you know how it goes when Miss Mojo takes a vacay in sunny Barcelona without you and you’re left staring at your crafty crap.  Pale and alone.

Well you can be the judge if she’s returned, but here’s what I’m entering:

Not just any watercolor, this is three colors of Twinkling H20s, mad shimmery in person (see the pic below to get an idea).  I cut out the happy and birthday dies, and like one destined for the insane asylum, I popped up all those little cut out pieces.  *Insert deranged look coupled with carpal tunnel here*  The pinwheel is CTMH, inked in SU Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst, and Hero Arts Mint Julep.  It spins too!

Sad how cameras have a tough go of catching shimmery glittery things, such sad news for us crafty folk.

Thanks for visiting me, and best of luck to Virginia and her new challenge!

ETA – Totally meant to tell you all that the layout for this came from Sketchbook Saturday, sorry Chupa!

Thinking of you shaker card

Tonight’s card comes courtesy of inspiration from Papertrey Ink’s Make it Monday #155, using PTI dies to create confetti!

This card is difficult to photograph because it is a shaker card, so here are some shots:

The lower panel of Mini Blooms is covering most of the shaker box, something I scooped up from my LSS.

Here’s what it looks like on an angle:

You can see the glare of the acetate here.

Can you see the mini blooms floating around in there?  They make perfect little floral confetti!
